- Rev. Deven MixonChildren & Family Pastor
I began my salvation journey with Jesus Christ when I was nine years old. I remember years ago when I was invited by a friend to a church event and the gospel was preached and my heart awoke to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Since then, my personal relationship with Christ has grown. As I “work out my salvation” in faithful conduct and Christian living, I see His hand guiding me and sanctifying me all along the way and I fully recognize “for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure” and that there is no other in whom I can go and find such forgiveness, peace and complete joy!
I surrendered the call to vocational ministry in my sophomore year of college. I've served as interim assistant youth minister at Central Baptist Church in Americus, Ga; preschool, children and youth minister at Limestone Baptist Church, Cochran, Ga; youth pastor and later education pastor at FBC Ludowici, Ga. I graduated from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2007 with a Master's of Education in discipleship and leadership. Candice and I have been married since 2000 and have three children: Haddon, Hannah and Hudson. We are excited to be ministering since 2013 at Altamaha Baptist Church and find joy in seeing children and their families grow in Christlikeness!

Joshua grew up in Hayden, AL where the Lord called him to salvation at 16 years old. With a decision to serve the world or serve God, Joshua was broken for the things of God because of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. At age 18, Joshua got the call to ministry. He has a passion for missions and reaching the unreached and those who have never heard of Jesus Christ.
