The biblical mandate for missions is clear, “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations” (Matt 28:19). At Altamaha Baptist Church we teach that missions is the role of every believer. The scope of our mission activity is directed by Acts 1:8, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

At Altamaha Baptist Church, you will find opportunities to serve in your local community, in North America, and Internationally.

Local

Another area of focus is our country. National Missions allow us to serve throughout North America as well as assist established ministries in growing and reaching more people with the life-giving message of Jesus.

Shelby Family Mission Trip

We serve the community of Shelby, NC through this annual mission opportunity. Projects include construction, VBS, cleaning, etc…

Campers on Missions

This fellowship of Christian campers proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ while camping or participating in missions activities. Construction, evangelism and disaster relief are just a few ways this ministry spreads the Gospel.

Mission Serve

Our students have an annual opportunity to put their faith into action by serving in North American missions through Mission Serve.

International

We believe every person deserves the opportunity to hear the Gospel of Jesus. Through International Missions we support churches worldwide and partner with ministries that are “making disciples of all nations” (Matt 28:19).

Haiti

We partner with Hearts, Hands and Hope for Haiti to provide hunger relief, pastoral support, and construction of churches, schools, and homes to the impoverished people of Haiti.

Dominican Republic

We partner with Holt’s House of Hope to provide a Christian foundation for boys and girls in Boca Chica, DR.

Bahamas

Ongoing disaster relief opportunities stemming from the destruction left behind by Hurricane Dorian in 2019.

Puerto Rico

We partner with Mission Serve to provide an opportunity for High School and College age young adults to serve the people of Juana Diaz through various construction projects.

Operation Christmas Child

We share the Gospel through a simple shoebox filled with gifts for children. The amazing journey of a shoebox gift begins with you and results in Evangelism, Discipleship, and Multiplication.
