Sunday Morning

Youth room at 9:15 am

Sunday School begins in the youth room at 9:15 am for a time of fellowship with all middle and high school students. At 9:30 students break into their small groups for a time of studying God’s Word. We offer Middle School Boys, Middle School Girls and a High School Coed classes.

Wednesday Nights

6:15 – 7:30 pm

On Wednesday nights, students get to have their own worship service. Service begins with a quick game or video and transitions into a time of worship using praise and worship music selected by the students. The students are then challenged and encouraged with a relevant and applicable message and a time of response.

At ABC we see student ministry as a vital part of the body of Christ. The discipleship and participation of young people within the life of the church is crucial, not only for their own growth, but for the vitality of the larger body of believers. We believe the voices and perspectives of young people are just as important as anyone else in a community of faith.

We believe that ministry happens most effectively in the context of relationships. We strive to build deep relationships with students and their parents as we lead them to KNOW Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior, GROW in their relationship with Jesus and other believers and GO make disciples! The student ministry is an outward focused ministry where students are challenged and equipped to go into their daily mission field and be bold disciples of Christ.

Know

Evangelism

The first goal of student ministry is to lead students to surrender their life to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Students will be confronted with their sin nature, need of a savior and they will be pointed to the only person that can fill that need, Jesus. Whether it be Sunday School, Wednesday Night Youth Service, or any of the retreats, camps and fun activities we provide, everything we do will point to Jesus.

Grow

Discipleship

We desire to see our students Grow in their walk with Jesus. The Student Ministry of ABC has identified the following seven characteristics that we desire our students to be equipped with during their time in student ministry:

  • Salvation and Knowledge of what they believe
  • Know God’s Word
  • Effective Prayer
  • Sharing Their Faith
  • Defending Their Faith
  • Serving The Church
  • Serving Others

Go

Missions

A lot of ministries claim to be mission-minded, but we put action behind our words and are mission-active. We train students on the Biblical mandates of evangelism and missions, lead them in developing their testimony and effectively using it, and show them how to leverage missions to spread the Gospel. We then provide them with opportunities to put action behind their faith through various evangelistic, service and mission opportunities. Our students have the opportunity to serve through local, North American, and International Missions. Our students have served locally in addition to South Carolina, North Carolina, Kentucky, Puerto Rico, and Haiti.

Activities

Annual Events

Many students find activities as an inviting gateway to experience the student ministry. We encourage our students to use fun and entertaining activities to invite friends who may otherwise be hesitant to come to church. We also utilize these events to build relationships between our students. Examples of activities are whitewater rafting, snow skiing, christian conferences, christian concerts, tubing, ice skating, TopGolf, bonfires, etc.
